Halloween Inspired Smoothie

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup frozen pumpkin (peel, steam and chop into cubes prior to freezing)

  • 1/3 cup cauliflower florets (raw, frozen for extra creaminess)

  • 250mL milk of choice (I used a mix of unsweetened almond milk and soy milk (calcium fortified ranges)

  • 2 tsp. nut butter (I used peanut butter)

  • 1 tsp. chia seeds or LSA

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder or 1/2 cup plain or vanilla flavoured yoghurt (Jalna or Yopro best for creaminess)

  • 1 tsp. vanilla essence

  • 2 dates

  • sprinkle of salt

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

  • extra ice

Method

  1. Add the above ingredients and blend until smooth

  2. Serve in a tall glass and enjoy for a well balanced breakfast or works well as a post training snack depending on your individual goals! Even my 7-month year old girl enjoyed a couple of sips!
